In 1960 when Christian Drouin senior decided to produce at Gonneville-sur-Honfleur, he entrusted Pierre Pivet with the project. Himself an inhabitant of Gonneville-sur-Honfleur and the third of a travelling descent, Pierre Pivet was famed for great competency in distilling outstanding calvados on the behalf of farmers form Pays d’Auge.
He provided his know-how to Christian Drouin thus enabling him to produce a stock of higher quality calvados which was to be marketed by his son only twenty years later.
To honor Pierre Pivet, Calvados Christian Drouin produce this special decanter, a blend of some of their best vintages aged over 20 years in oak casks.
