Depuis trois générations, la famille Drouin produit de grands calvados dans le Pays d'Auge en cherchant à exprimer toute la complexité des variétés de pommes à cidre de Normandie.
La Blanche:
When in 1942 the «Appellation Calvados Pays d'Auge» was created its regulations imposed no minimum aging.
In those days, most Calvados was consumed uncoloured. It was called "La Blanche". Then, step by step, a minimum 2 year aging in oak casks was required. Now Calvados Christian Drouin offers a new start to La Blanche. Copper still double distilled and produced from over thirty varieties of cider apples.
As an aperitif, Blanche can be used as a cocktail base or as a Long Drink. It can also be enjoyed on ice. Frosted, it is a refreshing digestive.
Calvados Réserve Pays-d'Auge:
The youth of the Pays d'Auge.
Couleur jaune d’or, arômes de fruits et de fleurs, finement boisé. Les premières épices (vanille, cannelle) se développent.
Le Domfrontais de Christian Drouin:
Produced in our cellar located in Domfront, Le Domfrontais by Christian Drouin is a blend of Calvados aged between 3 to 5 years in small oak barrels.
The originality of the calvados Domfrontais Apellation comes from the high percentage of perry pears and its simple distillation in a column still.
The pear trees of the Domfront region, sometimes centuries old, are large trees that produce small fruits with subtle aromas and frank acidity. These pears (about 60% of the blend along with apples) bring freshness, elegance and a crisp taste in a particularly fruity Calvados.
