Springbank Angels - Calvados Pays d'Auge

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of Christian Drouin's Experimental range and our tenth edition, we had the great pleasure of partnering with the most iconic of artisanal Scottish whisky brands: Springbank.

Our relationship with Springbank goes back a long way, as the distillery used our Calvados casks to age some of their whiskies twenty years ago.
The challenge of this new edition was to marry the apple with the peaty notes of the Springbank barrels (10-12 ppm). For this, we chose a 19-year-old Pays d'Auge Calvados of great depth.

It was left for 5 months in 8 of these barrels for a limited edition of 2130 bottles.
Eight barrels of Drouin Calvados were sent in exchange to Springbank.

Tasting note:

The nose opens with deep notes of roasted apples with smoky aromas. It evolves
then on aromas of plum and clafouti with slightly earthy accents.
The palate is rich, opulent, structured, marked by toasted notes.
The peat is expressed in the finish.
A majestic Calvados of strength and power.
